Follett Software Sponsors Launch Of’s Monthly Social Webinar Series For School Librarians | Business News |

Librarian social networking? As instructional tool? Give me a minute -- as we unbury ourselves from the summer holiday's mail, and attempt to open the library for the new school year, and introduce the new teachers to the facility and services, and attend (usually useless) inservices, meetings, and professional development, and oh, adjust to our own new job, which was cut -- to find time to register and schedule the webinars.

Titled Using Emerging Technology to Advance Your School Library Program, organized by school librarian Michelle Luhtala and sponsored by Follett Software, perhaps this series will be beneficial, especially considering I will no longer reside in the library itself, maybe it will help me feel connected to my profession. Notably, we school librarians got a little pat on the back by EdWeb's CEO, Lisa Schmucki:
“Our research has shown that school librarians are further ahead of teachers and principals in their use of 21st century technology.”
