Libraries lend a hand in tough times

The summer holiday comes on, and I'm busying myself with coffee, feeding the kiddies, and working on my own professional development, with the Today Show humming in the background. Along comes a segment about the importance of libraries, especially in times of recession, how libraries help people improve themselves with skills taught at the library, search for jobs, the free WiFi and computer services libraries afford. Library visitation increases during recessions, yet, confoundedly, library budgets are frequently scrutinized and reduced during lean times.
